My Fall Makeup Bag

We all love trying new products, especially when it comes to skincare and makeup! I thought with a new season here I would share what is in my makeup bag this Fall.

Let's take a peek:

Primer

With cooler air means dry skin. Having a moisturizing skincare routine is essential in the colder months ahead but I like having a hydrating primer as well to lock in all my hard work before applying any makeup. I love Base Tape Hydrating Primer from Tarte Cosmetics!

Foundations

Over the summer I made the mistake of purchasing a foundation that was too dark for my natural skin tone. I also had a foundation lying around from winter and I found the perfect marriage between the two. They are super affordable and can be found at any of your local grocery stores or beauty shops! The Darker foundation I use is from Burt's Bees in shade Almond Beige 1020 and the lighter foundation is from e.l.f Cosmetics in shade Pearl 120

Eye Poppers

I've always loved adding that "wow" factor to my eyes. I also like to accentuate the features on my face rather than cover up and my eye products do that flawlessly! I love the Surfer Curl mascara from Tarte. I ran out of it about a month ago and ran to the drug store to pick up a regular old mascara.... NEVER AGAIN. Tarte's mascara has a better bristle and the formula for the makeup is superior! The great thing about Tarte is they donate a percentage of their profits to help ocean life, disaster relief, empowering young women and to stop cyber bullying!! They also believe in using only clean ingredients for our skin and for the environment and are paraben, mineral oil, phthalate, sulfate & gluten FREE! I recently bought a bundle since they are currently having a SALE. I got 2 mascara's and a double sided eyeliner for $35, normally $67!!

A Bit of Color

Speaking of eyes, every once in a while I find it nice to throw on some eyeshadow. Nothing crazy but just to feel even more put together I will swipe on some from a neutral color palette. I like to keep it simple since it's not something I use frequently. I have recently been using e.l.f Cosmetics Clay Eyeshadow Palette

For my cheeks I have still been putting on a bit of bronzer. I am full throttle into the Autumn season but it's nice to transition those warmer tones into the cooler weather! I am using Wet n' Wild in shade Palm Beach Ready 739A. I always have some blush to dab on my cheeks for that added life and color to my face. I find the winter leave my face looking more ghostly and it really needs that touch of pink to warm up the look of my face. I'm currently applying Essence's The Blush in shade 10 Befitting

Brushes

I have not been disappointed with these brushes from Morphe I find they blend well and have been well worth my investment. I was never a brush snob and always felt I could achieve the same look as a professional stylist with generic brushes... but then found the results of my "homemade face" were not as satisfactory. I'm not saying you need to use super expensive brushes, but for me, after 15 years of doing my makeup and going through a million sets of my cheaper ones I made the decision to give the pricier ones a go. And have loved the longevity and results!

Lips

Autumn lips should look natural in my opinion. I find the Holidays are when I like to pop out the bright red sticks and glosses, but through most of the Fall I like matching, as best I can, to the color of my lips. I've been loving Mineral Fusion's Sheer Lip Tint (Shade GLISTEN)

Setting Spray

Again, it should be no surprise that the spray I use is in fact from tarte! With cold and flu season upon us and new strains of Covid developing, I find myself still wearing masks. This Stay Spray keeps makeup from rubbing off onto your mask and doesn't leave a weird filmy cast on the skin. It is also Vegan 🙌🏻

Nail Polish

The only brand I have bought for the last 5 years now has been InstaDri. It dries within 60 seconds and the colors are so pretty! I have been keeping my fingernails pretty simple with the white polish to use in making simple French Tips. My toenails are painted in a cute Autumn Burgundy color.
