Shop Your Closet

Back when I worked for Premier (the jewelry business) I learned a few tricks, when it came to fashion. One of those things was how simple it is to get dressed in the morning, and with very little effort, look fabulous every single day!

If you missed this 1-2-3 technique I highly recommend giving that post a look ( The Power of Jewelry ) For today's post we will be looking at just clothing, but just know adding some bling to your look always gives an extra pop to your look and works as a confidence booster.

Maybe you didn't know it, but every season of every year, fashion trends change. There are some simple trends that will never go out of style and it is for this reason that we can "Shop Our Closets." The idea of shopping your closet may be confusing at first glance, so let me explain.

Let's pretend our closets are our favorite clothing boutique or department store. We open the door with more than a handful of options and yet most days it can feel like we have absolutely nothing to wear! The Shop Your Closet Challenge allows us to look at our closets in a new way, it forces us to get creative and it saves us money!

If your fashion Pinterest board inspires you to do some shopping, I'd like to challenge you to put down the credit card and head over to your bedroom closet instead! Let's do a Google search of Fall/Winter/Spring/Summer fashion trends or take full inspiration from Instagram Influencers, friends or celebs and make a short list!

Once your list is complete sift through your clothes, if something even remotely "matches" pick it up, pair it with a "match" for your inspired bottoms, shoes, accessories... and you have a "new" outfit completely put together!

All three of these are Summer 2021 clothing trends, I went to my closet and found all 3!!! YAY, now lets see what I can add to each as a layering piece!

1. Jean Jacket

2. Light Shawl

I had 2 different shawls to layer 2 of my base layers, now let's see what accessories we can add!

1. Pop of color jewelry

2. Silver statement earrings

3. Studded earrings + dainty necklace

Now all of our outfits are planned! Time to try everything on!!!

So much fun finding old items of clothing to make a brand "new" outfit and saving money and a trip to the mall!
