Skincare Update

Back in January I shared what some of my favorite products were and went into my routines with skincare and makeup. My makeup routine is still the same, except for the applicators, I have been loving using my new Morphe brushes! My skincare regimen has become a priority, especially as I get older, I want my skin to have a great foundation so that my skin can be at it's healthiest once I am much older. In this post I will share a few tips I've learned as well as share my updated routines with you all.
Firstly, I would love to talk to all about the gorgeous sun! We live in a culture that is obsessed with tanning, especially when that sunshine becomes a constant occurrence, after the long winter months. I too, love that sun kissed glow that laying out in the summer sun can give. However, it should not be a surprise that skin cancer is the "most common cancer in the United States."
We love our tanning beds, or laying out on the beach all day, and even worse are the TikTok trends that literally cook your skin! The sun can be detrimental to our skin's health. Even when using sunscreen, the sun causes premature aging and can even cause Melanoma cancer (one of the more serious skin cancers.)
So what do we do? Do we stay pale all year long? Not for me.
I have made the decision to continue protecting my skin with a good SPF, all over my body and face and remembering, to reapply! Sunscreen is also advised to wear on our faces all year round. My favorite has been this sunscreen from Monat
I also have found a wonderful gradual tanning lotion, through St. Tropez. When applied accurately it can give your skin that skin kissed look, without spending hours in the sun.

Morning Routine:
In the shower I like to cleanse with my Be Gentle face wash. 2 times a week I like to use my Berry Scrub face mask, it smells amazing and leaves my skins silky smooth! After my shower I still use this body oil from Osea, it's great for preventing and reducing stretch marks and is filled with antioxidants. For my face I start by applying a pore-perfecting Revitalize serum, then I use my Be Gentle moisturizer, one fingertip-full is plenty for my entire face and neck. Then I apply my eye smoothing cream right under my eyes, it's known to be "better than Botox!" I finish up my routine with the lash and brow serum, perfect for filling in your gorgeous eyebrows and lengthening your luscious lashes naturally!

Afternoon:
The rest of the day, I am staying hydrated! Did you know we need to be drinking at least, half of our body weight!? That means a 200lb person should be drinking 100 oz of water every, single, day! Water intake is not only great for staying hydrated, but is known for improving skin, and in helping us burn fat! So if you've been neglecting your water, maybe fill up a glass, instead of pouring your 5th cup of coffee 😉
Another great thing I do during the day is exercise. We know that moving our body is great for our internal health, but did you know it is great for your skin as well? It does for a few reasons. Moving your body increases your blood circulation which nourishes your skin cells, it is also a great way to sweat out all the toxins that accumulate in your skin. And on top of that, exercising your body releases endorphins, making you less stressed and I don't know about you but when I'm stressed out, my face breaks out. So let's move more during our days!

Evening Routine:
My evening has different "start times" depending on the day. If I have a fun date night planned with Chris, I probably won't be starting my routine until right before bed. If we have nothing to do and no one to see, sometimes I start my routine as early as 4pm.
I always start with a small dab of Vanishing Makeup Balm. It "melts" away any makeup you applied, I then gently wipe it all away with wet washcloth. Then I wash my face with my Be Gentle Cleanser. I detest washing my face over my sink, it is so much easier to do in the shower. Before I learned this trick I preferred not cleansing at night because of the watery mess it left. If you wrap sweat bands or even stretchy headbands around your wrists, you eliminate that drippy mess on your counter or floor, give it a try and let me know how it worked out for you, I have a feeling you'll be amazed!
After that, I gently pat my face dry and I use the Revitalize serum. I follow it up with the moisturizer, I am prone to hormonal acne, so I omit the moisturizer during my period. I finish up with my Rewind Age Control Nectar I love using this now so that my skin can be in healthy conditions when I'm 50 and older.

I love how quick and simple my routines are, and even better is how clean the ingredients are. I am a big believer that what we absorb into our skin matters. Our skin is the largest organ on our entire body and what we spray, roll and apply to it should be healthy and clean!
