Spring/Summer Skin Care

We've entered the warm seasons and with that comes a switch in how we care for our skin. Gone is the dry air and cracked skin, hello to constant sweating and sun soaking!

This post is filled with tips and products for Summer skin care recommendations. Let's take a look together and revel in our gorgeous skin all Summer long!

I like to go lighter on my makeup, by using a tinted SPF. Mineral based sunscreen is safer for our skin because there are no synthetic chemicals, is better for acne-prone skin and provides more protection! Here is my favorite mineral sunscreen:

Something I just learned is that exfoliating, especially in the warmer months helps to unclog our pores. Even with lighter makeup we are still spending more time outside and sweat and sunscreen can get gunked into our precious pores! Don't over exfoliate, we still want to be kind to our skin, once or twice a week is perfect. Shop for this one here:

Try avoiding sun. I'm not suggesting we stay inside all Summer, we already did that this Winter! But wear hats, sunscreen and clothing that helps to protect your skin while you spend time outside.

Reapply! Again, we are going to be outside a lot and one application is not a done deal to protecting your skin from those dangerous rays. SPF 30 should be applied every 2 hours, and don't forget your lips. There are some Chapstick sunscreens out there to keep your Summer kisses protected.

Get yourself a Vitamin C Serum, like this one here: https://kaitlynscorner.mymonat.com/skincare-c-radiance/ Getting exposed to all that sunshine can cause hyperpigmentation, vitamin c can help with that. It also reduces the appearance of fine lines and helps with collagen production, keeping your skin gorgeous all year long.

Time to shorten those showers. Because of all the heat and sweat it can be so easy to jump into the shower more often in the Summer. And hot water is not your friend either (this is just as sad of news to me as it is to you!) To reduce inflammation of our skin we should be shortening showers to 5 minutes in luke-warm water.
